HOW'S BARRY'S "MAVERICK WAS RIGHT, I WAS WRONG," TOUR WORKING OUT?:
McCain Makes Significant Gains in Four Key Battleground States: Majority of Voters in Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin Favor Keeping Troops in Iraq, According to Quinnipiac-washingtonpost.com-Wall Street Journal Survey

Republican John McCain has quickly closed the gap between himself and Democratic rival Sen. Barack Obama in several key battleground states even as the Arizona senator struggles to break through the wall-to-wall coverage of Obama's trip to Europe and the Middle East this week.
Wandering around the Middle East embracing the policies of George Bush and repudiating your own prior positions apparently isn't the way to boost poll numbers. Posted by Orrin Judd at July 24, 2008 10:21 AM
I heard a radio debate a couple of weeks ago between some GOP & Dem operatives where the Dem said that Obama would get a big boost when Americans saw huge crowds of Europeans treating him like a rock star. It was about the funniest thing I've ever heard. Who's advising this guy? Does he have no one who knows anything about America on his campaign?

Perhaps there is a bit backlash against the rock star coverage of Mr. Obama by the US newsmedia. It is a tad over the top - all three network anchors following him.
Certainly Mr. Obama deserves some coverage but this is media excess at its finest.
