HOW ARE THEY GOING TO WIN NATIONAL ELECTIONS...:

The monster mash (Maureen Dowd, March 9, 2008, NY Times)

Obama's multiculturalism is a selling point with many Democrats.

But his impassioned egghead advisers have made his campaign seem not only out of his control, but effete and vaguely foreign - the same unflattering light that doomed Michael Dukakis and John Kerry.

...if they can't figure out that advocating multiculturalism in a country that has and is predicated on a monoculture is foreign?

They are predicated on being Against, not For. Hard to advance that way under one banner.

Oh, so it was the advisors....

I've always wondered why Dukakis and Kerry lost.
