WE ARE ALL DESIGNISTS NOW:

Languages Burst Forth Rapidly (Stephen Pincock, Feb. 1, 2008, ABC Science Online)

New languages often evolve quickly, in a sudden burst of new words coined as groups of people strive to describe the world around them, says an international team of researchers.

Quentin Atkinson from the UK's University of Oxford and colleagues report their findings today in the journal Science.

Scientists debate the evolution of language in a way that parallels arguments in biological evolution.

Darwinists never display their blissful lack of self-awareness more sublimely than when they compare their theory to such incontrovertible products of intelligent design as economic systems and languages. One can hardly keep a straight face when they're reduced to the argument that language is neither intelligent nor designed because no one wrote out a specific plan for the current design in advance.

Our language is embiggened with perfectly cromulent words.

Hey, I'm just snicking over the minor lefty worry-stone that we're losing a of languages every day. Guess that one's not true either.

Oops, that should read "a lot of languages"

For about 2 or 3 years, my son had a language all his own. Even his sister gave up trying to follow it. Then it 'became extinct'. I can't decide how that fits into the article.
