Beautiful people earn more than their ugly workmates, says study (BETH HALE, 12th August 2007, Daily Mail)

It is a blow for Ugly Bettys everywhere.

Beautiful people have a distinct edge over their less attractive counterparts in the workplace. They are better paid, more successful and easier to get on with in a group.

A 'beauty premium' means the office looker may be getting paid 15 per cent more than her less attractive counterpart.

Don't you know some social engineer will try to ameliorate this, if they think they've got the tools to do it -- Vonnegut's "Harrison Bergeron" got written as early as it did for a reason.

Too bad about Vonnegut.

I'm convinced that at my work, folks have used diversity hiring quotas to hire attractive young women.
