EV...:

Democratic successes prove fleeting (CHARLES BABINGTON, 6/03/07, The Associated Press)

Under a portrait of George Washington and a sign proclaiming "A New Direction," Democratic lawmakers boasted of their accomplishments during their first five months running Congress.

Their news release covered two pages.

Yet most people might be excused for hardly noticing, except maybe those who are paid the minimum wage or who live in hurricane-ravaged areas.

He left out Baby Assad, the main beneficiary of the Democrats midterm win.

It wasn't only those who get paid the minimum wage who got an increase.

Our papers here have stories about the poor victims of Katrina at least once a week. We could have bought them all a condo and paid for it's upkeep in perpetuity and it would have been far cheaper than uncounted for billions already distributed. Isn't there a Republican writer who can follow the money and put an end to the whining.
