CHECK HOW MANY STATES YOU HAVE TO GET THROUGH BEFORE YOU'RE OUT OF THE TOP 50 NATIONS:
If you haven't seen this map yet...:
...it's well wrth checking out.
Considering so many of them ended up there, the comparison of Nebraska's GSP to the Czech Republics's GDP is quite apropos.

Actually, that'd be a cute little immigration debate question: Why does little tiny Illinois make the same money as big huge Mexico, despite the difference in size, natural resources, etc.? "Open borders" with the surrounding states? Differences in business policy?

Posted by: jim hamlen at June 13, 2007 5:46 PMBangladesh has 150,000,000 people. NH and Vermont between them might have two million.
Posted by: oj at June 13, 2007 6:44 PMThe map is amazing.
But here's an idea for a map that would be even more incredible: Match the average household net worth of a country to a State.
The stats probably don't exist to do it; and there most probably aren't enough countries to go around.
Hooverville.
