SHE'S OFF:

'I'M GOING TO GO FOR THIS' (IAN BISHOP and MAGGIE HABERMAN, December 5, 2006, NY Post)

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton yesterday answered the question on everyone's mind - telling one New York lawmaker flat out: "I'm really going to go for this."

By 11/08 every sentient American will have seen the face and heard the name and discussed the topic countless times. Oh joy.

In other surprising developments, the earth continued to rotate, causing the sun to appear to rise from the eastern horizon today.

Wow. Surprise. I'm stunned. Speechless. Gobsmacked. Obliterated.

I confess I'm a bit surprised she's dropped the pretense this soon. I honestly thought she was going to wait as long as possible to build up the "suspense" (and more importantly, to do massive polling to try and find out whether she has any prayer of beating McCain or Rudy).

Or at least wait until she officially started her second term as Senator next month.

Right, so now we can have stories on Hillary, every other day, for at least another 2 years, plus 4 years(if she wins or doesn't) and then another 4 (win or no win) and by that time...God help us all.

It's not like she's bumping more interesting stories off the front page.

She sounds like Sally Field: "You really like me!"

What a potential oxymoron..."First Gentleman Bill Clinton"!

It would be kinda funny if she stuck Bill with health-care reform.
