HUGO MUST HAVE LOST THE FIRST COUNT:

Telemundo: Venezuela Halts Transmission (The Associated Press, 12/03/06)

Officials identifying themselves as members of a state regulatory agency forced the U.S.-based Spanish-language TV network Telemundo to halt transmission Sunday of its presidential election coverage.

"We're surprised by this," said Pablo Iacub, a member of Telemundo's eight-person team, which arrived last week. "We only want to do our work," he said by telephone.

"HUGO MUST HAVE LOST THE FIRST COUNT" My exact thought as well and I eagerly await Carter's thumbs up or down on the legality of the final count.

Check the algorithms on the voting machines. NPR said Chavez got 61% of the vote (last time he claimed 58%). We'd like to know what the most accurate pre-election poll said.
