These just show that French Jews are distributed exactly the same way the general population is, except that 6% avoid the (most virulently) anti-Semitic party and distribute themselves among the other parties.

Maybe the 5% who are National Front supporters figure it's better to be discriminated against by a French bigot than murdered by a Muslim immigrant.

And some of them are beginning to realize it.

Some of them (not many) have left; some are making preparations to leave, not that they want to---European culture and all that---but still...; some have been buying pied a terres in other countries for that rainy day, should it come; some of them are hoping beyond hope that it's all a bad dream, but that it will pass, and one might fervently wish to agree with these hopes, while wondering if in fact we've "been there, done that".

It seems that many of those who are staying are under the impression that they can reverse the tide by voting for those candidates who seem to be saying the right things. This may prove to be an (another?) illusion, however.

On the other hand, one must keep in mind, if possible, that the Jewish community is not monolithic, and there are Jews who do not feel in the least threatened. Also, that there are (at least nominal) Jews, traditionally on the left and more extreme left of the spectrum, who support the muggers---or at least support those policies that encourage the muggings.

In the end, there is good reason to believe that it will get worse before it gets better.

Except that the French killed thousands of French Jews. European secularists have perpetrated genocide and their ideology requires it. Radical Muslims have blown up a few people and have no real power. You've got to be able to tell real threats from annoyances.

You seem to be ignoring what happened to Jewish communities across the Middle East after WWII. Hundreds of thousands of Jews were driven out, communities that had lasted thousands of years destroyed. Were they all displaced just by annoyances?

Not even an annoyance. A nationalist Israel wanted Jews and they went there. The seculars killed their Jews.

I see. Ethnic cleansing is OK as long as the targets have a nation-state of their ethnicity / religion to go to. I wonder, though, why you object when the nativists here have the same attitude regarding Mexicans.

As you point out, ethnic cleansing is unexceptional. It's exterminationism that's a secular Darwinist innovation.

Non-responsive? I agree with you that there's no difference between the various cleansings, including the one the nativists propose, and that they're typical policies of state.

It's exterminationism that's distinctive and while French Jews may want to cleanse the Muslims they're opting for a people and parties that are associated with exterminationism. As you point out, it's not helpful that Jews have thought of themselves as a distinct race.
