Bookviews (Alan Caruba, May 2006)
In a world of many international organizations and treaties, the issue of American sovereignty was never more important. That’s why Redefining Sovereignty, edited by Orrin C. Judd, ($29.95, Smith and Kraus, Lyme, New Hampshire) is an important book. It raises the question of whether liberal democracies will continue to determine their own laws and public policies or yield these rights to transnational entities in search of universal order and justice. Essays and opinions that represent both the Left and the Right allow the reader to come to their own opinion.
I just checked my order at Amazon. Now they're saying it will arrive before May 12th, but no mention of the year.
Posted by: erp at May 1, 2006 2:52 PMI just found a copy at a Borders in Omaha, right up in the political science section. I had ordered a copy but they told me it wasn't in yet. The general trouble I had in locating this book (I was told it was out of print, I kid you not) makes me skeptical that it would just happen to be up on the shelves. That in turn makes me wonder if perhaps BroJudd reader pchuck (who lives in Omaha) ordered it from that location, bought it somewhere else, and the store simply stocked it anyway. It wasn't even listed in the store's inventory.
Posted by: Matt Murphy at May 1, 2006 3:10 PMYeah, Amazon told me mine would ship in June. There must be some kind of heavy demand. We can only hope it sells enough copies that The Wife doesn't start selling off OJ's organs.
Posted by: Annoying Old Guy at May 1, 2006 3:54 PMI'm not sure there'd be much of a market for any of OJ's organs, but his fur covered pelt might be of interest to those with a talent for coat making who live in colder climes...
