THEY DON'T CALL IT A HATE PANEL FOR NOTHIN':
No love on gov's hate panel (DAVE MCKINNEY, 3/03/06, Chicago Sun-Times)
Gov. Blagojevich's anti-discrimination panel seethed with acrimony Thursday as two leading Jewish members resigned, refusing to serve alongside a Nation of Islam official who was unwilling to condemn controversial remarks by Minister Louis Farrakhan.Posted by Orrin Judd at March 3, 2006 12:21 PM
The Nation of Islam member of the panel invited all of them to listen to the Minister Louis Farrakhan speak at their "Founders'Day" celebration. He always says something unflattering about Jews whenever he speaks to his followers.
Here is yet another example of liberal hypocrisy and political correctness at its best. Only black anti-Semitism is tolerated on the "hate panel." Remember the "Hymie Town" remark by another African American leader, any consequences from that?
If a Jewish or caucasion panel member would have been associated with anyone who was a known racist, how long do you suppose they would have lasted on the hate panel?
The Nation of Islam panel member has not resigned or been asked to resign, and in fact has been endorsed by the governor.
"controversial remarks" lol. The remarks of a fascist lunatic are hardly controversial.
Posted by: Brian at March 3, 2006 1:03 PMGood on the folks who resigned, but I still don't understand why so many Jews support the Democrats. Maybe Abe Foxman can help me out.
Posted by: jdkelly at March 3, 2006 6:19 PMjd, I've been asking that question for years and even the brilliant analysts on this blog can't really explain it. Friends of mine, intelligent and reasonable people about most things, have the ridiculous idea that they need to fear fundamental Christians. Go figure.
Why? Stockholm Syndrome.
