Nothing says getting top dollar for your business than a distress sale.

They've said they won't sell under market value, which is why Congress will have to but and then sell at a loss. A fine exercise in conservative values, eh?

Isn't the better strategy to come back in 6 months and say well we couldn't find anybody to buy the place so we're just going to keep it. Dare congress to take it away.

Isn't that what they're doing?

Yes, after November.

...and the purchaser will be Halliburton. Mheh.

Perhaps the "eevill" oil companies ought to purchase them.

This deal is certain to have a bad ending. The US will end up buying, and then pay someone, or a joint venture of someones, to run them. Highest priced docks in the Universe.

Would Congress be happy if they were nationalized?

Would the unions and the $120,000 longshoremen on the West Coast be happy?
