IT'S A STUPID SPORT, BUT WE HAVE LOTS OF BOOKS:
Anyone want to do an NFL pool? It's free and I'll give away books.
One of the features of Minneapolis Star Tribune's free pro football contest is that you can compare your scores with that of your friends on a private page.Posted by Orrin Judd at January 13, 2006 11:00 PMTo join your friends' group, first sign up for the contest at
http://startribune.profootball.upickem.net
which enables you to win prizes for each week or a grand prize overall. Then, after you log in, click on "edit groups" in the upper left of the screen, and then click on "Join a Private Group," and submit the following:
Your group name: Brothers Judd
Your password: ericjuliaEnjoy the season!

How'd you get the comment to display that gewgaw? Is it remembering your info?
Posted by: oj at August 26, 2005 6:17 PMI'm in also. Who knows - perhaps I'll be lucky enough to win a book.
Posted by: AWW at August 26, 2005 7:03 PMI signed up. You only think football's a stupid sport because you don't understand it.
Posted by: Brandon at August 26, 2005 7:11 PMDo we get to pick the Grey Cup winner, too?
But no sane person pays attention to feetball, if ever, until baseball ends in October.
Posted by: Raoul Ortega at August 26, 2005 7:49 PMI call first dibs on whoever Knute Rockne is coaching.
Posted by: Peter B at August 26, 2005 8:21 PMOJ,
That "gewgew" signifies TypeKey registration.
Posted by: The Other Brother at August 26, 2005 8:31 PMMine won't do that.
Posted by: oj at August 26, 2005 8:34 PMIt doesn't really seem to have much of a point, but what the heck. I just love verifying registrations via e-mail so much!
I get Bronko Nagurski

If you click on the "geegew" (as you so quaintly call it) it will take you to that person's profile and also the option to get a free one for yourself. Then you fill out a bunch of forms and jump through their petty little hoops. If you need a picture for your profile I think I still have your old employee ID picture that makes you look like a hillbilly axe murderer.

"look like"?
Posted by: mike beversluis at August 26, 2005 8:45 PMWhat no Brothers Judd La Liga or Serie A fantasy league this season? They both start tomorrow . . .
Posted by: Jim in Chicago at August 26, 2005 9:20 PMI'm in as well. I must atone for my total collapse in the Brothers Judd NCAA Basketball pool.
Posted by: Patrick H at August 26, 2005 9:22 PMI'm in, baby.
I tried signing up for Typepad and it told me my email address is in use and I already have an account. I do?
Posted by: Matt Murphy at August 27, 2005 12:37 AMI'm in.
Posted by: JAB at August 27, 2005 12:36 PMI'm in as well.

Eh, I did fantasy baseball with some bloggers, sucked at that, maybe this will be better.
Posted by: Scof at August 27, 2005 4:19 PMGuess I better do this one since I know Orrin will die before posting a similar contest for World Cup Soccer.
Posted by: John Resnick at August 28, 2005 9:23 AMI'm in. Bartman was taken so I'm Bartman1.
Posted by: Bartman at August 30, 2005 11:15 AMI am truly shocked...Orrin Judd participating in a football pool! I knew you secretly loved the sport you once referred to as "Un-American"!
I'm in as well.

J-E-T-S, JETS, JETS, JETS....
Posted by: oj at August 30, 2005 2:59 PMThis is a couple of days old, but I suppose it applies here:
Saudi clerics issue fatwa against football.
Of course, it is the European kind of football, and OJ issued his fatwa against that a long, long time ago.
Posted by: John at August 30, 2005 3:27 PMWell, I've had a TypeKey account for a long time and I sign in as well but no little profile geegaw, so it's not sufficient to have TypeKey and use it to comment.
Posted by: Annoying Old Guy at September 1, 2005 11:01 AMNot an NFL game, but...heh.
Posted by: Matt Murphy at September 3, 2005 4:48 PMI'm in. Go Giants, go Bears, Go ManUtd.
Posted by: Jim in Chicago at September 8, 2005 12:35 PMI agree. Good luck!-Shemale
Activated my account, but I have to wait for my husband to enter the pool.
