REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS LAST BEST FRIEND, BABY?

Galloway praises Syrian president (BBC, 11/19/05)

George Galloway has defended his praise of President Bashar al-Assad of Syria, following a recent trip to the country.

The MP for Bethnal Green said the president was a "breath of fresh air" after decades of dictatorship.

Well, it's hard to find someone more principled than George Galloway.

On the other hand, a lot of Iraqi Ba'athist money--somehow--found its way into Syria (well, not just money), and Galloway just might need some of that to defend in court some of his previous principled stands.

The decades of dictatorship of, like, Assad pere? Is sonny trying to palm off all the bad stuff on dad?

As someone clever once said, you couldn't make this stuff up.

Imagine the reaction of the anti-war left if Galloway were found dead in some hotel.
