60 IN '06:

Consumer confidence soars in November (AP, 11/29/05)

Consumer confidence soared in November as declining gasoline prices and an improving job market contributed to a stronger-than-expected reading that could bode well for the holiday shopping season.

The Conference Board said Tuesday that its Consumer Confidence Index rose to 98.9 this month from 85.2 in October. Analysts had expected a reading of 90. The better-than-expected results reversed a two-month decline.

The dow is only about 100 points from 11,000 as well. It might be past it by the end of the year.

Too bad it's a year late--Dow 11,000 in November '04 and W wins 50 states.

Rove decided he didn't need it for the '04 election and decided to save the market manipulations for the run-up to the 2006 midterms. It's also why he sent his weather machine to destroy New Orleans and raise gas prices in 2005 -- Karl knew it was an off-election year, and that the public will react favorably when gas prices go down, even if its to levels above those in 2004, while the business areas of New Orleans will mostly be rebuilt by next year, when he'll have his weather machine redirecting every hurricane away from the U.S. and into Cuba or Venezuela.

We salute the return of the 60 Republicans senate one year before the election, as true to its time as the swallows returning to Capistrano,

Well, we're 4 senators closer than we were two years ago.

Minus -- Santorum.

Plus -- Kennedy, Steele, . . . I'm running our of possibilities here. Looks like a max plus 1 and a likely wash.

Another case of unemployment plummeting.

It's still the worst economy since Herbert Hoover. Only the rich and greedy are benefiting from this evil, manipulative shell game! Arrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggggggggggggassssssssshhhhhhhhhhh!

if ted the whale drops dead then rommney can appoint a republican there.

Poor recruiting in WV, WA, ND, NE, and elsewhere will limit the GOP gains. Steele and Kennedy are probably the most likely pickups. Santorum looks like a loss unless Casey implodes. Better GOP position into '06 might bring FL. After that it will take a Dem meltdown or acts of God (i.e. WV, elsewhere) to get to 60.

Challengers don't matter.

The best way to get 60 is to question their patriotism. Every day. Every night. Make them squeal. Run ads showing Lieberman's words of yesterday and today against Murtha, the Cape Cod orca, Kerry, Schumer, Boxer, Kucinich, McKinney, Reid, Pelosi, Dean, and all the rest. Drive the stake in all the way.

Tell America that the pretty boy now thinks the invasion he voted for was a 'mistake'. Tell America that the leading Democrat on the Intelligence Committee was talking war strategy with Damascus 5 months before we struck. Run ads with Joe Wilson (heaven knows the Dems won't). Run ads showing the last helicopter leaving Saigon, and then put Teddy's face on the screen.

Make them squeal.
