SO AT LEAST THE GREENS WILL SUPPORT THE WAR:

Water returns to Iraqi marshlands (BBC, 8/24/05)

The marshlands of Iraq, which were drained during the early 1990s, are returning to their original state.

Under Saddam Hussein, the area of marsh was reduced to a tenth of its former size, as the government punished people living there for acts of rebellion.

The latest United Nations data shows that nearly 40% of the area has been restored to its original condition.

It'll be difficult, but I have faith the media can and will find a way to spin this negatively.

erp -- do you know anyone who reads the newspaper for anything other than sports or fashion who is not a conservative? I am amazed that the war in Iraq has not caused Vietnam-style protests anywhere in the U.S.

I mean, where is Jane Fonda?

Today, the headline in Canada's Globe and Mail was that [liberal] Ontario fears becoming a "have not" province and is eyeing the success of [conservative] Alberta. "Have Not" means that their economy is per capita in the lower half of Canada. That is like saying California fears being surpassed by Kansas.

The world is changing. Rejoice.

Vandall, Jane Fonda is supposedly on a nationwide bus tour and there's an anti-war protest outside the president's ranch in Texas. The media is flogging it for all they're worth, but I don't think there's a lot of interest.

You'd be amused by a series of emails with a young moonbat who writes a sophomoric column for our local liberal rag. He's so lightweight, he needs a tether when he leaves the confines of his PC atmosphere.

Normally I don't read his column or much of anything else and would gladly drop the subscription, but my husband likes to have a newspaper in his hands when he has his morning coffee. He also likes to torture me by reading particularly appalling things out loud.

Anyway, this particular column decried that due to the White House clamping down on what the media can say about the WoT, it is left to the Arts in the form of a new TV show to tell the truth about the war.

I don't know how many synapses burst in my head as I dashed off an email pointing out the errors in his column and asked for some sources for his allegations. The reply was textbook monkeybushitlerhalliburtonbloodforoil claptrap with nary a fact or figure to support anything and concluded with when do I plan on going to Iraq? Wow, that one really hurt.

I appreciate having this outlet to communicate with like-minded others and even the occasional troll to provide comic relief.

Sorry, of course, I mean Randall.
