Fetuses May Not Feel Pain in Early Months (LINDSEY TANNER, August 23, 2005, The Associated Press)

A review of medical evidence has found that fetuses likely don't feel pain until the final months of pregnancy, a powerful challenge to abortion opponents who hope that discussions about fetal pain will make women think twice about ending pregnancies. [...]

The authors include the administrator of a UCSF abortion clinic, but the researchers dispute the claim that the report is biased.

In a related story, a study conducted by Richard Speck reports that nurses don't feel pain.

oj - There's more to this story:

But their seven-page article has a weakness: It does not mention that one author is an abortion clinic director, while the lead author - Susan J. Lee, a medical student - once worked for NARAL Pro-Choice America.

JAMA editor-in-chief Catherine D. DeAngelis said she was unaware of this, and acknowledged it might create an appearance of bias that could hurt the journal's credibility. "This is the first I've heard about it," she said. "We ask them to reveal any conflict of interest. I would have published" the disclosure if it had been made.

Here's further proof, if it were needed, for my comment at, "WHAT'S SO GOOD ABOUT PEACE, LOVE, AND UNDERSTANDING?" http://www.brothersjudd.com/blog/archives/026067.html#comments

oj, is there any truth to the old saying that once leftwing moonbats drink the koolaid, they never feel pain again?

I've got it. Fetuses don't feel pain but babies do.

John Norman Collins concluded similar observations amoung EMU & UofM college co-eds in the late 60's.

Likewise, a .45 directly to the temples causes no pain, either.

They are not exactly saying that the unborn does not feel pain. The live bait we use for fishing feels pain. What they are quibbling about is whether the unborn reflects on pain or whether it is aware that it feels pain.
