THE SENATORS' DIXIE WALKER:

Joe Biden: Dems Will Filibuster Janice Rogers Brown (NewsMax, 7/03/05)

Sen. Joe Biden said Sunday that if President Bush nominates recently confirmed Circuit Court Judge Janice Rogers Brown to replace Sandra Day O'Connor on the Supreme Court, Senate Democrats will launch a filibuster.

"If [Bush] sent up Edith Jones, I could assure you that would be a very, very, very difficult fight - and she would probably be filibustered," Biden told CBS's "Face the Nation."

In the next breath Biden corrected himself, saying: "I misspoke, I misspoke. Janice Rogers Brown is what I meant to say."

Making it clear that they're just defending the color line. Karl Rove must be chortling.

He had .306 lifetime average. Not great, but not chopped liver. Biden couldn't match that although they both probably shared a disagreeable personality, which you allude to.

From baseball library they are a little kinder.

"When Jackie Robinson broke the color line with Brooklyn in 1947, Walker, a native of Georgia, initially resisted the idea. BUT HE WAS SOON DEFENDING ROBINSON AND GIVING HIM POINTERS" pointers.

Janice Brown, Edith Brown, you know they all look the same. Poor Joe just can't keep them straight.

There are two Ediths on the Fifth Circuit that are mentioned as candidates. I think one's maiden name is Brown. So, many opportunities for confusion abound.
