MEMO TO MR. DIAMOND:
"People think you can't train a dog to pull a plow. Impatient people think that. Patient people know better."
--Anonymous Farmer, The Simpsons
Posted by Bryan Francoeur at July 27, 2005 9:48 AMProving once again that watching The Simpsons will give you pretty much everything you need to know.
Posted by: at July 27, 2005 10:43 AMSled. Plow. Little difference.
Posted by: ghostcat at July 27, 2005 11:46 AMIf you are referring to the Indian deabte from before -- they did train dogs to pull (sleds, travois) - it was the plow they lacked.
Posted by: Shelton at July 27, 2005 11:53 AMSled. Snow plow. Virtually no difference.
Posted by: ghostcat at July 27, 2005 11:58 AMperhaps you'll recall this from the SAT:
Find the matching simile.
sled:plow
a) IED:fireworks
b) skis:snowboard
c) ice skates:crampons
d) abortion:euthanasia
Posted by: lonbud at July 27, 2005 12:09 PMAs you well know, that question must be approached from the perspective of a dog's rear end.
Posted by: ghostcat at July 27, 2005 1:31 PMIt should be noted that I originally sent the quote to Orrin in reference to an article in the EU Observer saying that Belgium wasn't ready for a terrorist attack. I said if the Muslims were patient they could have the whole continent of Europe without firing a shot. I then said, "But the Muslims aren't really known for their patience," and I concluded with the Simpsons quote. It had nothing to do with our Noble Native Brothers, without whom we wouldn't have the Billy Jack movies and the Go-Go Gophers cartoons.

as they say in my hometown, "if you ain't the lead sled dog, the view never changes."
bryan:
"But the Muslims aren't really known for their patience" curious you would say that.
