Sex, Age And Sun Exposure Linked To Frequency Of Sunburns (Science Daily, 4/20/05)

In Danish volunteers, sunburn was typically associated with female sex, younger age, high risk behaviors like sunbathing, and long hours exposed to the sun, according to an article in the April issue of the Archives of Dermatology, one of the JAMA/Archives journals.

The 24/7 news channels have to fill all that time with news or fluff. Same with the huge number of competing scientific magazines: there will be plenty of "well, d'uh" reports to fill all that space.

Come to think of it, I would like to check out the differences between the sunburned areas and the unharmed skin where the tan lines are...

If they are as described (Danish, young, female), the area of the latter probably approaches zero.
