The enemy within: How an Americanist devoted to destroying international alliances became the US envoy to the UN (Sidney Blumenthal, March 10, 2005, The Guardian)

The euphoria that Bush's European trip marked a conversion on the road to Brussels is fading. For it was Bush himself who decided to reward Bolton with a position where he could continue his crusade as a "convinced Americanist" against the "globalists," especially those at the UN and the EU.

here's a deal for you: if a Democrat actually attacks Mr. Bolton for being an Americanist I'll eat that page in the Congressional Record.

"Are you now or have you ever been an Americanist?" I'd pay admission to see that confirmation hearing.

If Sidney keeps writing these sort of things, he many not get his coveted job with the Hillary Clinton campaign, since his words are at odds not only with Bush Administration actions, but with her foreign policy triangulation.

I think Hillary is cuing it up to do a "Sister Souljah moment" on the likes of Sid Vicious and the moonbat left.

The enemy of what within what? Did Sid the Lip toss his U.S. Passport before writing?

Blumenthal, who IIRC was not a complete fool when he wrote for TNR, has really been careening into loonball territory for the last few years. It's one thing to be a tedious partisan hack, but now he's in full-bore traitor mode. I can't imagine the Hildebeest having anything to do with him, at least when she/it is in campaign mode.

Are you including Jim McDermott and Dennis Kucinich in that bet?
