TRY TO UNWRAP THE ERRORS:

'Natural selection' takes life and limb (Jane Perlez, January 7, 2005, The Age)

International health officials have warned of soaring numbers of casualties among survivors of the tsunami, but the doctors say many of the most seriously injured died even before medical teams arrived.

"To some extent a process of natural selection has occurred," Dr Shumack said. "People with no treatment at all are already dead."

Clearly natural selection favors species who keep doctors with them at all times, in case of injury. I think Darwin noted that in the Galapagos, no species that had personal physicians attending at all times ever died out.
