REMEMBER HOW AWFUL THE FIFTIES WERE THANKS TO ALL THAT WWII DEBT....:

Bush's Budget Moves Have Made the Future a Voiceless Victim (Ronald Brownstein, January 10, 2005, LA Times)

It may be difficult to believe, but as the debate on Social Security begins, what Washington needs most is another lobbying group. This one would advocate for the interests of Americans not yet born.

You can go ahead and kill them in utero, just don't hand them any debt.

Leaving to one side the stunning lack of self-awareness in that first sentence, I'm a little puzzled by the idea that trying to take future generations of seniors off the welfare roles is a crime against future generations of taxpayers/beneficiaries/children.

We have one; the Republican party. Who the hell do they think all this indebtedness is for? I carried tax indebtedness most of my life and it was generated for me and my kids by the "greatest generation."

The debate on S.S. is all about retaining a viable S.S. for my kids, my grandkids and the unborn. I can't believe these selfish, self centered idiots.

OJ - you should send him that statement.

And if the debt was good enough for US...

So, Nov consumer debt fell by $8 billion, and the economists expected it to be +$6 billion.

Wrong again, wonder if that's one reason we had a $1 billion surplus in Dec. That and oil prices dropped.

The concept of the time value of money and the reality of the constant expansion of the US economy just blows by this guy doesn't it?

A group of advocates for unborn children would advocate for a ban on Abortions and for going cold turkey on Social Security and Medicare. Paying out only currently accrued benefits and telling folks to put money into 401ks to cover their own retirements.
