Now it is rumoured that Hollywood director Oliver Stone wants to commit to film the story of one of his greatest political heroines - Baroness Margaret Thatcher.

Oliver also wants to work up the angle of an affair between Thatcher and Ronald Reagan, which means Kitty Kelley is probably going to be the co-author of the script, since she already had Nancy cheating on Ronnie with Frank Sinatra at the White House.

(I suppose this also means we can expect a Page 1 exclusive by MoDo in the New York Times on Stone's bombshell, just the way she did with Kitty's shocker about Ol' Blue Eyes...)

Considering that 'Alexander' is about to lose more money than either 'Lost Horizon' or 'Ishtar,' and that Stone's previous movie, 'Any Given Sunday', played to about 12 people nationwide, I have a great deal of trouble understanding who is going to fund his next extravaganza.

Miramax is laying people off.

This is distressing news. A screenwriter I know has heard rumors that Stone's scenario (still in draft), has Reagan initiating an affair with Mrs. Thatcher in gratitude for her arranging the murder of JFK to assuage Reagan's moral outrage upon learning that Kennedy had begun admitting a young woman dressed in armor kit as "Alexandra the Great" to his White House amorous romp sessions. This sounds a bit far-fetched to me, but after Stone's version of the Jim Garrison story, who knows?

PJ: It would take an almost psychotic lack of self-knowledge for Baroness Thatcher to be one of Stone's heros. That makes it somewhat more likely to be true, I suppose.
