DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE...:

Police Taser 6-Year-Old Boy At Elementary School (WFTV, November 12, 2004)

A 6-year-old boy was subdued with a Taser while wielding a piece of glass and threatening to hurt himself in the principal's office, officials said Thursday.

The boy, who was not identified, was shocked by police with 50,000 volts of electric current on Oct. 20 at Kelsey Pharr Elementary School.

...the dang thing doesn't even slow out two year old down.

Tasers have unproven side effects. I prefer proven side effects.

Any elementary school principal who cannot bring a 6 year old throwing a tantrum under control without calling the cops is incompetent and should be fired. Any cop who uses a weapon on a 6 year old should be fired also.

But not before being Tasered in their hindquarters first.

Robert,

When the cops are called in that situation, it is a CYA move by the principal in case of litigation. There isn't a schoolyear in any decent-sized school that goes by in litigation-happy America, where some diphead parent sues a teacher for disciplining her little snotnose.

OJ,
Try a cattle prod.

Bart its not discipline. Its picking the kid up and getting him under control. And it may take two adults. But if the Principal can't do it, she has no business being principal. None.

Robert,

Once you pick the kid up, it's assault. Even if you are 100% in the right, when the parents sue you for disciplining their little darling, you're still 10 grand out of pocket.

I've seen it happen. My mother taught second grade in NYC for 35 years and you'd be surprised at why people sue.
