VOTE KERRY FOR A HAPPENING PARTY SCENE:

The Bushes have been virtually incognito for the last four years. Harpers Bazaar recently referred to the first lady's style as "Marian the Librarian."
"Nobody's been to The White House," added Mrs. Pincus. "You don't know about them. There's no buzz." The president is a teetotaler and Laura Bush "doesn't even do lunches. It's like, 'Hello, is this 1958?'"...
Mrs. Wallop points out that the Bushes have only hosted "what, four or five state dinners in four years? These people don't understand that to get things done you have to have these stupid dinners."
If Mrs. Wallop is right that more cocktail lunches and social dinners are the key to getting the war on terror won, I might have to rethink my opposition to Kerry.

These people should hang with the cool kids at the UN. I hear they throw lots of very expensive parties and get lots done.

Now, love Bush or hate Bush, is there anyone who thinks that the last four years have been boring? Of course, this is the same friend who is 36 and has never registered to vote, so I'm comfortable in completely ignoring his opinion on politics.

An invitation to the White House is valuable, and can help get minor things accomplished, as well as raise money, should it be needed.

I have beun to sense that Theresa is 4 sheets to the wind most of the time.

While the media basically wondered what all the fuss was about Clinton swapping campaign cash for stays in the Lincoln Bedroom, any increase in events at the White House under George (state dinners) or Laura (luncheons or socials) would be chronicled down to the minutest detail to show the access special interest lobbyists have to the White House.
