Clinton counted on to boost Las Vegas turnout (Las Vegas REVIEW-JOURNAL, 10/28/04)

Democrats are hoping to get an early voting turnout boost Friday from the Democrat who twice carried the state.

President Clinton will campaign for Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry at 3:30 p.m. at an outdoor rally at the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater, 500 South Grand Central Parkway.

The rally is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required.

Clinton, who had quadruple bypass surgery seven weeks ago, has campaigned in the battleground states of Pennsylvania and Florida this week.

He is scheduled to be in Las Vegas until Saturday.


Sending him to Sin City is like carting coals to Newcastle.

Does anyone believe that Clinton actually wants Kerry to win this election? Seems like he is doing the bare minimum necessary to appear to be keeping the faith.

One of the small consolations of a Kerry victory is that it would put Bill and Hill on the back pages indefinitely, and perhaps forever.

We really do have the potential for a Nelson Rockefeller-Meagan Marshak moment here, though hopefully Bill won't do anything against his doctors' orders.

It's a working vacation— he's interviewing for the Kerry White House's first class of interns.

(I clipped that picture of Nelson as VP giving someone the bird and had it on my dorm room door the rest of the year.)

Bill Clinton never could resist the adoration of an audience. He'd have made a great Hollywood star if he'd gone into acting instead of politics.
