YOU KNOW CLINTON DIDN'T TELL HIM THIS:

Kerry on Iraq: 'Wrong War, Wrong Place, Wrong Time' (Patricia Wilson, 9/06/04, Reuters)

Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry on Monday called the invasion of Iraq "the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time" and said his goal was to withdraw U.S. troops in a first White House term.

Under pressure from some Democrats to change the subject from national security -- regarded by many as President Bush's strength -- Kerry tried to focus on the economy and other domestic issues at a neighborhood meeting in Canonsburg, but members of the audience raised Iraq.

Not only does he contradict himself, yet again, but he keeps his weakest point--the widespread distrust of him as a potential commander-in-chief--at the forefront. A disciplined candidate would have kept his own story of the day front and center.

There's also the little matter of Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Australia, Japan, Ukraine and 20-some other nations, who will be _very_ interested to hear that their contributions are worthless and that the coalition is the stupidest thing Mr. Kerry ever heard of.

Undisciplined, that's the right word.

The man's a mess.

He's a fine dilatante; a man with a thousand hobbies, but no vocation. Which is exactly why he shouldn't be president.

Is Jamie Rubin still on the staff?

paraphrasing:

"I'm against this war and if elected I promise to pull out within four years!"

makes about as much sense as anything else he's said about the war.
