Here's your debate question: Sir, if you had been in Vladimir Putin's shoes, and al Qaeda had taken over an American school, would you have ordered that the school be taken by force?

Did Validimir Putin order that the school be taken by force, or was the decision made by the local commander when hostages started trying to flee the school and the terrorists started firing on them?

I have heard the later, but not the former.

Tough question. The correct answer would vary by voter and I'm not sure Bush would win on this one vs. Kerry.

My position on all these is that when hostages are taken to be exchanged for prisoners, shoot the prisoners, after you've got the hostages back safe, if possible.

But be sure to shoot them all. In public.
