The technical term is Bunny Suit.

He went to the Kennedy Space Center and could only manage to talk about protecting local jobs. Nothing about what his administration would do when he's running the place. No talk of a vision or even how Bush's vision is flawed. He used the place as a prop for a photo op, nothing more, and he deserves all the derision a photo like this is going to generate.

He really was Mike Dukakis' Lieutenant Governor.

Oompa Loompa!

Posted by: rps at July 27, 2004 6:54 PM

Teletubbies in the USA?

Doesn't quite compete with Bush in a flight suit. A split photo campaign poster of both would be nice. Bwahahaha!

Drudge had it with: 'The Man Who Fell to Earth' -- which is just too funny. To this day, I rib my college roommate for suggesting 18 years ago that we go see the original film w/ David Bowie.

Now the Kerry campaign is complaining that releasing the pictures is a Nasa ambush. How lame!

The JFK who won the White House would never put on a hat of any kind when visiting locales. Much less a bunny suit. Now I see why.

Odds are, Teresa's at the other end, holding what looks like the leash...

Posted by: John at July 27, 2004 8:55 PM

Front of the NY Post: "Houston, We've Got a Problem".

However, I don't quite see how this could fit into a campaign ad, unless the suit could be called UN blue.

What the f*ck was he thinking?

Posted by: pchuck at July 27, 2004 11:08 PM

Now the Kerry people arre saying its a Republican ambush. Brit Hume says a Kerry staffer approved the photo. Fox ran it with the ompa-lompa song from Willie Wonka. Priceless.

Posted by: Robert Schwartz at July 28, 2004 1:10 AM

Karl Rove must be licking his chops thinking about how to use that photo in an ad or ten.

Ala 2001: A Space Odyssey, he could combine it with Johann Strauss's "The Blue Danube Waltz", or perhaps Richard Strauss's "Also Sprach Zarathustra"--or maybe simply John Williams' theme from Star Wars.

He could use it with audio and/or video of JFK's "Go to the moon in this decade" speech.

Or any one of a number of ways. Just ask the guy who was in the tank in '88.

(And then watch the Democrats cry foul--the same party that first gave us Willie Horton (paging Al Gore), LBJ's Daisy ad, and the November surprise of GWB's drunk driving conviction.)

Here's another WILLY WONKA quote that would apply to Kerry:

"You get NOTHING! You lose! GOOD DAY SIR!"

Posted by: John Barrett Jr. at July 28, 2004 9:04 AM

He looks like a gerbil crawling through one of those tunnel mazes.

Posted by: Robert Duquette at July 28, 2004 2:57 PM

He looks like a character from that Woody Allen movie, where Woody Allen played a sperm.
