ONE IS THE LONELIEST NUMBER:

99 to 1 - Kerry Is The One (California Yankee, 6/02/04)

Kerry, the only Senator not to vote for the Project BioShield Act, spent today telling anyone who would listen (i.e. the mainstream media) that the U.S. is not adequately prepared for Bioterrorism.

Very funny and it shows why he'll shortly leave the Senate.

Flipper Kerry's Senate absences and his whole career are a joke, but I still contend that he will NOT resign from the Senate; nor will he be held to account by the press. He is not going to give up the $12,000 per month salary, and he will keep the seat as insurance against his likely thrashing in November.

Three times is the charm - and I agree. Kerry will not resign. He will be the titular head of the party after the election, even if he is embarrassed at the polls. The Clintons still think of themselves as giants, but Bill will fade even more after his book comes out, and Hillary is not a lock for re-election. She would do better to retire and spend some time figuring out how to run for President in '08. She will need a lot of thought on how to get to 50.01%.

The big news in the Democratic Party over the next 4 years will be the battle to shove aside the braying donkeys like Pelosi, Daschle, Gore, Kennedy, McDermott, Durbin, Dayton, Shrum, etc. The shovers will probably be John Edwards, Harold Ford, Martin Frost (assuming he is re-elected), and a few others. Permanent minority status cannot be attractive to the younger set, and even they have to know that the McAuliffes, Clintons, and Kerrys have too much baggage,

A Ron Paul who consistently votes in particular ways (even if consistently wrong) can get away with being on the short end of 99-1 votes. This was a vote where Senator Kerry should have let Candidate Kerry do a fundraiser in Santa Barbara.

Hillary doesn't need to get to 50.01% She needs to get to 270.
