KICKIN' BACK IN THE BRIAR PATCH:

Bush team confident in steady poll results (Anne E. Kornblut, April 21, 2004, Boston Globe)

Campaign advisers are so convinced that national security issues play to Bush's strength that they have posted a link on the Bush-Cheney reelection website to the new book by Bob Woodward, ''Plan of Attack," despite several disputes they have over facts and a portrayal of Bush as driven to war by an unrelenting Vice President Dick Cheney without input from Secretary of State Colin L. Powell.

Not to get overconfident but it appears it would take a serious jolt to the system (i.e. terrorist attack, recession, Bush caught with an intern) for Kerry to catch up ("ketchup").

This also attempts to show that Bush & Co are not going to be vindictive. Yeah, Woodward trashed them, but they're going to be good sports about it and not get petty.

(unlike Divine Hillary -- all genuflect and burn the pinch of incense before Her Divine Image or face her DEA/BATF/IRS wrath...)
