THERE'S A REASON THEY DON'T RELEASE BARRY'S SAT SCORES:

Obama Comes to the Aid of Late Night Writers (Jaime Sneider, July 21, 2008, Campaign Standard)

Last week, comedy writers for the late night shows bemoaned their inability to write jokes about Obama. Alas, there's nothing funny about the Great One--at least not in the minds of Harvard-educated white guys suffering from liberal guilt. In the off case they've been shamed into actually doing their jobs, they should check out this clip from the weekend. Obama said he expects to work with world leaders as president for the next 8 to 10 years.

The refusal of the Obama camp to release his standardized test scores would be less suspicious if he didn't sound so unintelligent every time he speaks.

His team has to know that Obama has a serious case of foot-n-mouth disease from the way he backpedaled away from town hall meetings with McCain.

The inevitable debate(s?) between them should be interesting. Pushing the meme that McCain is old, slow, and senile isn't going to leave much room to reduce expectations of Obama's oratorical and debating skills. Probably the only question is if Obama is going to go deer-in-the-headlights after a question ala Dukakis or stalk McCain ala Gore.

If W said that, it would be taken as proof of his secret plan to overthrow democracy.

"refusal of the Obama camp to release his standardized test scores would be less suspicious"

He's too busy doctoring his birth certificate.

Posted by: h-man at July 21, 2008 11:15 AM

I was chastised when I suggested in the comments here at the Bros that Obama was an AA baby and that he wasn't all that bright. If he were, he'd have been snapped up at one of the Ivies for his undergraduate work as Michelle Robinson Obama was even though her scores were, at best, mediocre. Harvard Law Review = ditto. Be interesting if any of his fellow students or professors were to tell the truth of what they know of him.

He hasn't even released his Birth Certificate, nevermind his medical records or his passport application, his law school application, etc. -- and I don't expect he will. Objective documents will reveal his feet of clay when he only wants to reveal his airy loftiness.

Obama reminds me a lot of Mr. Gardner in the Peter Sellers classic Being There. He has the same faraway look of one who doesn't have a clue. The character in the movie knew he wasn't who everyone thought he was, Obama on the other hand, has drunk the Kool-aid and really believes his clippings.

Does that publisher of cheap fiction, The New Republic still have their "Bushisms" schtick going? And will they have the intellectual honesty to use all the "Obamaisms" Our Beloved Hope Bringer (pbuh) is providing. At least for the first year of so? (Answer: Don't be stupid...)

And its not just the personal documents. All of the public records pertaining to his time in the Illinois legislature seem to be in the possession of MiniTrue, too. Unless he actually did less there than people think, and there aren't any records to release because there aren't any records.

Obama graduated in the top 10% of Harvard Law while he was also editor of the Review. Class ranking is determined by exam performance and exams are marked blind. He's easily among the top 1% of the planet, if you're talking brains.

If he scored in the top 1% they'd release the scores.

Posted by: oj at July 21, 2008 1:19 PM

It's hard to believe this lightweight is going to be our next President, even worse that a huge Dem majority in the House, plus a near filibuster-proof Senate, will actually be calling the shots.

Even if McCain were to pull it out, he is going to work in "bipartisan fashion" with the same Congress to "accomplish" things.

The Republic will survive, but it's going to be an ugly 4 years.

Obama graduated in the top 10% of Harvard Law while he was also editor of the Review.

a) Has anyone seen any paperwork actually showing that he graduated and what his ranking was? Or have they managed to shove that down the Memory Hole, too?

b) I heard that he was the first "editor" to never actually publish anything under his own name. So once again we have The One™ (pbuh) managing to not leave any paper trail or any concrete accomplishment once he got the job he sought.

Posted by: Raoul Ortega at July 21, 2008 1:43 PM

I'd be pretty doubtful about his class ranking being faked. Something like that is very easy to verify\debunk.

Posted by: Ali Choudhury at July 21, 2008 2:36 PM

It's not the matter of whether or not it's faked or he's lied. I figure any BS artist like him in a non-qualitative subject has to end up above average.

It's this massive secrecy and controlling that surrounds any physical record or information on anything to do with Barack X Obama (pbuh). Just do the massive document dump and get it over with, will ya? Withholding documents for the sake of withholding documents, or politically timing their release, is so Clinton. And when you emulate that pair, it means your list of "accomplishments" can't even include living up to your own promise of "new politics."

Posted by: Raoul Ortega at July 21, 2008 2:55 PM

Ali, where did you get the information about Obama's law school ranking? Yale Law School has only pass/fail grades, so there are no ranking and I'd be surprised if Harvard didn't do the same. Top 1% on the IQ scale. Where did you get that number?

I've known some very brilliant people and they have one thing in common -- modesty. Oh and they don't have the frightened deer in the headlights look either. Obama knows he's a fraud and is terrified of being exposed.

I wouldn't believe a thing about him no matter where it came from.

Now in McCain's case, we know he's down near the bottom of his class at West Point and he's not trying to hide it.

I wonder was Wesley Clark at the top of the class?

Posted by: erp at July 21, 2008 3:59 PM

Look, I know some folks in the top 0.01%; half of them I'd trust with managment of vast enterprises, and the other half I wouldn't entrust with managment of a hot-dog stand.

Posted by: Mike Earl at July 21, 2008 4:21 PM

How do you debunk giving a guy grades based on who he is rather than what he did?

The fact he didn't write a note is especially damning.

Posted by: oj at July 21, 2008 5:41 PM

General Clark was 1st in a class of 579. Senator McCain stood 894th in a class of 899. It's fair to say that in life after the academies McCain rose above his class rank while Clark fell below his.

Posted by: George at July 21, 2008 5:55 PM

According to the Harvard Law School Alumni Directory, Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law in 1991. During his time, the Law School's grading scale ranged from 8(+) to 0(F). Cum laude required a 4.85 minimum, magna a 5.8 minimum, and summa a 7.2 minimum. It was possible to choose one's courses to maximize one's gpa, so it would be interesting to know whose courses he took.
It's certainly unusual for a Harvard Law Review president to have written nothing. Perhaps that's why he wasn't a US Supreme Court law clerk, which is typical for a Harvard Law Review president.

Posted by: Steve at July 21, 2008 7:52 PM

Depending on the law review, it's not unusual at all for its president to not have written anything. It's not uncommon at all for the law review folks to just be editors of articles submitted by professors or other practitioners. Yes, Obama graduated magna cum laude.

McCain, on the other hand, graduated 894th in a class of 899 in the 1958 Annapolis class.

And, by the way, Obama never said he'd be president for 8 to 10 years, as was erroneously claimed in this thread.

If you want to listen closely to what candidates say, how about McCain's claim today that the situation with the Iraq-Pakistan border is serious. Oooops! There IS no such border? WHAT? Czechoslovakia doesn't exist anymore? Sunnis and Shias aren't the same? WHAT? HUH?

Take a nap, Senator McCain.

Posted by: diogenes at July 21, 2008 8:36 PM

Quite. John McCain is of the Stupid Party. We loathe intellectuals. Obama is the worst sort, a dunderhead who thinks he's elite.

Posted by: oj at July 21, 2008 11:05 PM

The only reason McCain finished as high as he did was because of his father and his grandfather. He probably should have finished last

Posted by: john Ryan [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 29, 2008 7:16 PM

Mr. Ryan, why so kind? Don't you mean if it weren't for his daddy & grandpa, McCain wouldn't have been admitted to the naval academy at all?

This is different in what way from Obama being touted as the second coming because his daddy was a Kenyan Muslim and his mother a home-grown Communist dingbat?

Oh, I forgot, it's because Obama = smart while McCain = dumb and we know this because the media tell us so. What the media should be telling us is that Obama = lots of blather/zero accomplishments / McCain = a long list of major accomplishments made all the more spectacular because he did it handicapped by a his limited mental capacity. s/off

Lordy, lordy!
