Dobson to Attack Obama Tuesday for Distorting the Bible, Having a "Fruitcake" Interpretation of the Constitution (Jake Tapper, June 23, 2008, ABC News: Political Punch)

Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family -- who has stayed unusually quiet in this election cycle likely due to his loathing of presumptive GOP presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. -- will tomorrow attack Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, on Tuesday for a speech the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee delivered in 2006 to the liberal Christian group Call to Renewal.

The AP was given an advance copy of Dobson's 18-minute radio segment, which has already been taped, and will air Tuesday.

In it, Dobson hammers Obama's views of religion, and says the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee is trying to govern by the "lowest common denominator of morality," and calls Obama's views "a fruitcake interpretation of the Constitution.

Good boy.

So much for the Barack's ol' 'reach out to Evangelicals' strategy.

This is great news. Good to see Dobson getting his head out. The whole anti-McCain pro-Romney thing was bizarre.

But don't I read just about every week about hip young evangelicals with soul patches, tattoos, tons of gay friends and no memory of Jimmy Carter, who are going to vote for Obama because he's young, fresh, vaguely latte-hued, and he'll Save the Planet (tm), Give Us Healthcare (tm) and End the War (tm)? What are a few dozens of millions more dead babies compared to all that? What's another boring old white guy going to do to change their minds, huh?

They're hip and young?
Sounds like the classic non-voter.

"The whole anti-McCain, pro-Romney thing was bizarre."

Bizarre unless it was part of the greatest Maskirovska since the Normandy invasion.

For all those years, the Skipper was the maverick, the anti-Bush, hated by all those nasty right-wingers. Think now, what has been the effect? The right-to-life and RKBA constituencies are staying on board, and the center is open.

It's all illusion, and it's beautiful.

Lou, I'm less inclined that you to believe that it was humanly orchestrated, but that it is providential, there is no doubt!
