France is to introduce compulsory breathalyser tests in late-night bars and clubs as part of a new effort to cut down on road deaths.The announcement by the environment minister Jean-Louis Borloo came after a particularly bloody holiday weekend on the roads with 19 people killed.
"I am going to introduce a decree in cabinet under which all drink outlets that stay open till two in the morning will have compulsory electronic breath-tests, so that everyone can test his own situation as he leaves," Mr Borloo said yesterday.

We had "The Rat" in the basement of the student center at Tulane, right next to career services. Boy it stunk to high heaven, like most New Orleans watering holes, but you could always get a pitcher of beer or two and a game of pool, night or day.
