ON THE DOWNSIDE...:

Jobless claims post sharp decline (Martin Crutsinger, 5/08/08, AP)

The number of newly laid off workers seeking unemployment benefits dropped much more than expected last week.

The Labor Department reported Thursday that applications for unemployment benefits fell to 365,000, a decline of 18,000 from the previous week. Economists had been looking for a much smaller decrease of around 5,000.

Only because people don't use pencils any more. Soon we may be getting $100 laptops at the back of pick-up trucks on street corners.

Unemployment is negative, remember?

We are all looking the other way while border-jumpers sneak in to do all those jobs Americans won't do.
