Iran's bad behavior blamed on Bush (Rowan Scarborough, March 15, 2008, Washington Times)

Sen. Barack Obama's most senior military adviser says President Bush is to blame for Iran's bad behavior.

The assessment from an interview with retired Air Force Gen. Merrill McPeak provides a glimpse into how an Obama administration would deal with Iran.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called repeatedly for the destruction of Israel, is pursuing nuclear weapons in the opinion of some national security experts, and his Revolutionary Guard is training Iraqis to kill American military personnel in Iraq.

This is of a piece with the Left's conviction that al Qaeda attacks are our own fault. The refusal to acknowledge that others have free will is one of their least appealing pathologies.

McPeak advised Kerry in 2004, and even appeared in a commercial for him.

Jeff Guinn responded (here at BJB) by telling us that most everyone in the AF called McPeak "Skeletor" and also saying that he was a brittle do-nothing.

Every Democrat can always find an officer willing to shill for him/her. There are plenty of McClellans, etc. out there. Fallon may be one - it would surprise no one if he endorses Obama or Hillary in some huge ceremony this Oct.

But for McPeak to say that the US is to blame for the Revolutionary Guard, the funding of terror world-wide, the oppression of its own people, the bluster and fear-mongering, and the assassinations - well, that's just too much. His brains must have oozed out through those eye sockets of his. Perhaps he 'hates' America as much as Michelle Obama and Jeremiah Wright.

That George W. Bush - he is something. Iran's 'bad behavior', which was been ongoing for years before he took office, is all his fault.

Paranoia City! I didn't read the article, so I thought you were referring to McCain as McPeak and almost had the vapors like a Victorian lady.

Note to self. Read the article first.
