Four Stumps in the Water for Obama (Charles Lipson, 3/29/08, Real Clear Politics)

Videos have now surfaced of virulent race-baiting by yet another Chicago preacher with ties to Obama, the Rev. James Meeks. Obama was not a member of Meeks's church and their connection may be only a tactical alliance between prominent local figures. That's the question: how close are those ties?

Meeks is no ordinary pastor. He is an important political and religious figure in African-American Chicago. He not only leads a mammoth congregation, he is an Illinois state senator and a key player in Jesse Jackson's powerful local political organization, which is squarely behind Obama's run for the Presidency.

Meeks's sermons have called white mayors "slave masters" and denigrated moderate black politicians with the "n" word. Nor is he backing away from those slimy views. He has reiterated and defended them in recent interviews with Chicago's local news media, which smells blood in the water.

If close ties between Meeks and Obama are discovered, the problems raised by Rev. Wright will come blazing back, and the damage will be severe.

The MSM have declared the story over.

I guess we no longer need wonder why so few, relatively speaking, blacks join mainstream American society. They're waiting for the revolution to grab control.

As that old ad for Negro College Fund said, “A mind is a terrible thing to waste.” Yes it is, but black leaders don't seem to mind if gets them what they want, money & power.

Up and down Chicago's lakefront, in the rich white suburbs, you see reams of Obama signs, and not a single McCain sign.

The IL GOP is pushing almost as much for Obama as the Dems, and have actively sabotaged the 14th and 11th districts.

The rich doped white mice are the ones funding Obama's campaign, and their seething white liberal guilt is probably causing them looking forward to feeling Obama's and Meek's lash - just like masochist looks forward to his spanking.

Dukakis was right when he said the fish rots from the head down, and the rich upper classes in the US are as rotten as they come.

One wonders why Hillary keeps hanging around. Perhaps the Clintonistas have one more bomb to explode?

IL doesn't matter.

I thank Senator Obama for kicking this stone over and letting the denizens it was shading scuttle out into the sunlight.

Reminds me of one meeting I was at before I became too revolted at the Episcopal Curch to remain as a member, let alone as a vestryman.

Have the courage to let the Democrats draw into our killing zone. Dare to let them put forwrd a committed, self-identified enemy of the American folk.

A great risk, to be sure, for all the witches, queers, scholteachers, journalists, spiritual jailhouse operatives--all our enemies foreign and domestic, will do their worst to get effendi Obama elected.

I see the risk, and I see the opportunity. Here in Pennsylvania, it doesn't look good for the effendi. Not only the people one meets and talks to, but our Democrat political leaders as well as our media make us wish that the trap had not been tripped so soon.
