HILL HAD NO IDEA HOW VAST...:

The conservative attack machine will depict him as a sleazy, left-wing, naïve neophyte whose election would be cause for celebration in terrorist circles.

A quick glance at right-wing blogs provides a clue of what's in store...they tell tales of illicit financial dealings and finger him as the most left-wing member of the U.S. Senate.


Imagine, the VRWC now includes National Journal and The New York Times.

Based on it's common usage, I had taken "swift-boating" to mean unjust or untrue criticism.

DJS - Ibid is being wry.

You are both entirely correct. What swift-boating "means" (based on who is usuing the term and why) and what it actually is are two different things. Hence the irony.
