MAVERICK HAS HIS MEASURE:

Democrats duel, then McCain pounces (Brian Knowlton, Patrick Healy and Jeff Zeleny, February 27, 2008, NY Times)

[I]n the debate, Obama - who like Clinton has promised to withdraw U.S. troops quickly from Iraq - was asked whether as president he would reserve the right to send American troops back into Iraq to quell a civil war or uprising.

Obama said that "if Al Qaeda is forming a base in Iraq, then we will have to act in a way that secures the American homeland and our interests abroad." [...]

"When you examine that statement, it's pretty remarkable," McCain told a crowd in Tyler, Texas. "I have some news. Al Qaeda is in Iraq. It's called 'Al Qaeda in Iraq,' " McCain said, The Associated Press reported.

Poor Hillary was reduced to saying that Obama's rhetoric is unoriginal because she couldn't disagree with his substance (such as there is). McCain gets to go ahead and say that Obama's rhetoric is absurd and divorced from reality.

I would hope that no one is whistling past the graveyard here.

I agree that the high probability is that McCain wins.

OTOH, I've decided to stop calling Obama and "empty suit."

Better to treat him as some one truly dangerous (in ways that Clinton could never be), and act accordingly.

He is backed by some pretty clever strategists, he has scads of cash, and more will keep coming in laundered bundles (likely from overseas sources), and he will, of course, and the sycophant media greasing the skids for him.

I have a lot of confidence in McCain. He's read "Boyd"

Let's just not leave anything to chance.

Bruno-

Your last word: should that not have been an upper case C?

Indeed, the enlightened know/feel/intuit (organically) that one must do everything possible to get back to the Garden....

And Obama is the one to lead us there!

(But what about them cherubim?)

Cherubim? Is that the one standing there with the flaming sword? Because that is a sign of most unwelcome.
