HE'D BE JUST LIKE JFK IF...:

Ask Not What J.F.K. Can Do for Obama (FRANK RICH, 2/03/08, NY Times)

[John F.] Kennedy was judged “an ambitious but superficial playboy” by his liberal peers, according to his biographer Robert Dallek. “He never said a word of importance in the Senate, and he never did a thing,” in the authoritative estimation of the Senate’s master, Lyndon Johnson. Adlai Stevenson didn’t much like Kennedy, and neither did Harry Truman, who instead supported Senator Stuart Symington of Missouri.

J. F. K. had few policy prescriptions beyond Democratic boilerplate (a higher minimum wage, “comprehensive housing legislation”). [...]

For all the Barack Obama-J. F. K. comparisons, whether legitimate or over-the-top, what has often been forgotten is that Mr. Obama’s weaknesses resemble Kennedy’s at least as much as his strengths.

...only he were a hawkish McCarthyite who was anti-tax and socially conservative.

Can we afford another Bay of Pigs, and another Vietnam war? The Soviets would not use nuke, but this time someone would. It makes no difference wether we hold a Muslim world summit, as proposed by the Hollow One, or not. If we do, they would just think that we are weak, better to finish us off. Anyway, the summit would be with the govts. whom they and we despise. They don't think like us, they don't behave like us. They killed people because of a couple of cartoons, punish rape victims not rapists. Fortunately, the Hollow One does not have a father who could raise dead voters in Chicago.

I attended the Obama rally in Delaware today, and until you hear him at length, you don't appreciate how naive and leftist he is. His stated view is that the federal government has the obligation--and presumably ability--to learn every problem in the life of all 300 million Americans and fix them. Regardless of one's views of Sen. Clinton, she knows all too well--see the Hillarycare debacle--the limits of federal power.
