WHAT DID ALIENS PUT IN HIS COKE?:
Specter fails to bring message to Syria (HERB KEINON, 1/01/08, Jerusalem Post)
US Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA), who held a high-profile meeting with Syrian President Bashar Assad on Sunday, was interested in bringing a message to Assad from Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, but was told that the necessary messages had already been sent, The Jerusalem Post has learned.Specter said after the meeting that he had the sense that Assad and Syrian public opinion were ready for peace, and that the US could help "bridge the gap" between Israel and Syria.
It's depressing to read in Barry Rubin's excellent book, The Truth about Syria, just how frequently foreign policy experts seek to reward the Ba'athist regime in this sort of fashion right after it perpetrates something like the recent assassination in Lebanon.

Wonder if Assad filled him in on the targeted whatever.
