Florida Senator to Endorse McCain (AP, 1/25/08)

Florida Sen. Mel Martinez will endorse John McCain on Friday, The Associated Press has learned, a move likely to give the Republican presidential candidate a crucial boost with the state's Cuban-Americans just days before the primary.

If Mel Martinez were a native he'd have to be the main alternative to Jeb for VP.

Mel has a 35% approval rate in FL and I suspect most of that is Dem support. Mels support is the kiss of death for McCain.

Maverick keeps getting these kisses of death and they all help him win. You don't suppose that voters view the kissing differently than the Right, do you?

oj, Why do you think so highly of Martinez? Here in Florida he has the reputation of not being too smart nor too scrupulous. In fact, he's very like McCain on that score.
