Cat Survives 19 Days With Jar on Head (Associated Press, December 1, 2007)

Tabitha Cain has fed a feral cat she calls Wild Oats for several years, but now she's thinking of changing the feline's name to Survivor.

That's because she says the cat survived for 19 days with a peanut butter jar stuck on its head.

We had a lady in our suburban neighborhod who thought it was accepable to feed feral cats. Of course a pride of a dozen or so of the nasty, foul-smelling creatures began to terrorize residents, attack tame pets and befoul patios and garages.

The township having declined to correct the situation, we found it necessary to effect a final solution to the cat problem, by means of, at first, live-trapping and transportation, and, ultimately, special operations.

The definition of nuisance may be uncomfortably protean, but if feeding feral cats is not a nuisance, nothing is a nuisance.
