ON THE BRIGHT SIDE... (VIA GLEE DRYFOOS AND THE OTHER BROTHER):
Escaped tiger kills man at S.F. Zoo: Animal mauls two more victims before being shot to death by police. (Charles Piller and Tim Reiterman, 12/26/07, Los Angeles Times)
A tiger escaped from its enclosure in the San Francisco Zoo on Christmas Day, mauled one man to death and left two others seriously injured. The tiger was shot and killed by police after it charged officers.A police spokesperson said the zoo was evacuated after the incident, which occurred late in the afternoon near the Terrace Cafe at the east end of the zoo. The zoo was being searched for other possible victims Tuesday evening, even though there were no missing person reports. Police helicopters circled the area with searchlights as ambulances stood by.

This is beyond awful. Even above the death and wounding of innocent visitors to the zoo, a beautiful innocent creature is killed for doing what her nature intended. What kind of a mindset releases a wild animal?
Did he or she think the tiger would only attack Bushies?
I hope this totally insane incident wake up the people of SF to rid their city of these kind of crazies? I'm sure glad my grandkids were moved away from the city into a safe suburb. The only time I was ever really scared walking around a city’s streets in broad daylight was in toney Pacific Heights while taking my little grandson to the park.
