Mattingly will not accept a position on the Yankees coaching staff, Marchand and ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney are reporting.

"Don was extremely disappointed that he wasn't the organization's choice to fill the manager's vacancy," Mattingly's agent, Ray Schulte, said in a statement.

Now is the bleedin winter of my discontent oj, and this is what you post? You should be celebrating your team's victory, not poking Yankee fans in the eye. But I guess for the Sawx it is all about the Yanks all the time.

Suffice it that Joe wasn't responsible for either of those guy's arm troubles -- Anibal's arm is on the Sawx minor league coaching.
