THE ONE BAD THING ABOUT TIMES SELECT...:

9/11 Is Over (THOMAS L. FRIEDMAN, 9/30/07, NY Times)

You may think Guantánamo Bay is a prison camp in Cuba for Al Qaeda terrorists. A lot of the world thinks it’s a place we send visitors who don’t give the right answers at immigration. I will not vote for any candidate who is not committed to dismantling Guantánamo Bay and replacing it with a free field hospital for poor Cubans. Guantánamo Bay is the anti-Statue of Liberty.

...was that it denied bloggers a target rich environment. For instance, Mr. Friedman's insistence that we ought to govern ourselves in order to please our enemies can't help but remind one of a German Jew in the '30s who thought he could act in a way that the Nazis would like him.

It's obvious that TF doesn't think that we are engaged in a war that could cost us our way of life. I'm also sure that that brand spanking new airport in Zurick has foot baths. In a short time you won't recognize Europestan anyway.

I am less smart having read that Friedman column.

Confirms my view that Friedman is the most overrated guy in the universe.

By the way, wouldn't flights from Zurich go to JFK?

He's right that it can't cost us much, just wrong in thinking it has.

... another bad thing is our local liberal rag is littered with articles like this now.
