IT'S NOT JUST THAT EVERYTHING IS CHEAPER THAN IT USED TO BE...:

Consumer Satisfaction With Cars High (DEE-ANN DURBIN, 8/14/07, AP)

U.S. car buyers appear to be more satisfied with their purchases than ever, despite some quality stumbles by Asian brands, according to a survey released Tuesday.

The consumer satisfaction rate for vehicles rose 1 point this year to a score of 82 out of 100, a record in the 12-year history of the University of Michigan's American Customer Satisfaction Index.

...but that it is vastly superior.

With the exception of total collapse in quality of our political leadership at the state, local, and federal level, you are certainly correct.

How long can the quality of goods improve when the leadership of a nation resembles a cesspool?

Services are already showing the wear and tear of the fish rotting from the head down.

To the contrary, this is the finest class of pools we've ever had. Robert Byrd, for one, is the exception rather than the rule he was fifty years ago. And the GOP is Evangelical, not Establishment.

That's the problem Bruno has OJ. If both parties are corrupt and there's not a dimes worth of difference between them, then you can safely tilt at windmills, knowing your feet are too pure to touch the base clay. The old guard Repubicans hate Bush because instead of trying(and failing) to get rid of the Department of Education and public health care, he used a little bit of sugar to get us free trade MRA's and school testing leading to vouchers. Who would of guessed the door to the windmill was unlocked? Bush and the rest of the Republicans have changed the debate for a generation, and now Bruno and the NR types standing on the sidelines(too pure to actually play in the game) booing look pretty bad. They need the government to be corrupt.....
