ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST:

House OKs wider wiretap powers: Democrats concede to Bush administration on warrantless surveillance (MSNBC, 8/04/07)

The House handed President Bush a victory Saturday, voting to expand the government's abilities to eavesdrop without warrants on foreign suspects whose communications pass through the United States.

It's like Tom DeLay was still running the joint.

Major rectification of names alert.

Not "evesdropping", not "wiretapping." What this covers is surveillance of foreign communications, and flagging of addresses, rather than content, which is what the comon understanding of eavesdropping and wiretapping entails.
