"The United States and France are historic allies and partners. President Bush looks forward to working with President-elect Sarkozy as we continue our strong alliance," Gordon Johndroe, spokesman for the National Security Council, said in Washington.
So France is cool now, right? As far as this blog is concerned?
Posted by: gupta at May 6, 2007 6:16 PMNo, it can't go Muslim fast enough. We're just enjoying the pain of its elites at being buddies with W nowand the masses realizing they need to ape the Anglo-American model.
Posted by: oj at May 6, 2007 7:16 PMIt would be great if France began to join the US position regarding Iran, Iraq, Syria, etc. and help push the momentum forward. But I'm not holding my breath.

To reiterated: France -- France!!! -- has just elected a president who doesn't cringe from saying stuff like that in a victory speech.
Since liberals are constantly yammering about how they approach issues using open-minded reasonableness as opposed to the supposedly knuckle-dragging logic the right utilizes on talk radio, I would appreciate seeing them "nuance" their views on how Bushco is alienating every country on the planet.
Posted by: Matt Murphy at May 6, 2007 11:21 PMI wonder if the NYT will print an article decrying Sarkozy as a French 'cowboy' (you know, boots on the table and all).
